An introductory tour for first-year students at the Paramedic-obstetric center
On April 15, 2024, an introductory tour to the village of Vostok was organized for 1st-year students of the International University of Science and Medicine in order to adapt them to socio-cultural life and study in Kyrgyzstan. Under the guidance of Asel Kokoevna Shayyldaeva, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, the students visited the Paramedic Obstetric Center (FAP) to get acquainted with the organization of medical care in rural areas and understand the peculiarities of medical practice in Kyrgyzstan. As part of this tour, students had the opportunity to get directly acquainted with the work of the FAP, its structure and functioning. During the meeting with paramedic Tolkun Rakhmatova, the students received answers to their questions about medical practice, and saw the real process faced by medical workers. This allowed them to better understand the role and importance of paramedic and obstetric centers in providing medical care in places where access to medical services may be limited. Such experience will expand their understanding and give them the opportunity to further use their acquired skills in scientific research and in industrial medical practice.
Then the students visited a local secondary school, a sports hall and a football field. The physical education teacher, Robert Daglasovich, helped students better immerse themselves in the local culture through playing volleyball on the school playground. These meetings and interactions contributed to the formation of friendly ties between students and the local population, which is an important aspect of adapting to a new environment.
In general, such excursions play a key role in the adaptation process of international students, helping them to better understand local customs, culture and value system, which is important for a successful stay and study in another country. These visits helped students gain a deeper understanding of the life and culture of Kyrgyzstan, which is an important aspect of their adaptation to a new environment. They also facilitated the establishment of contacts between students and the local population, which can contribute to integration and the formation of friendly relations.
